Faith Abides Is Moving Forward

There has been a lot happening at Faith Abides Farm, and we wanted to take some time to share an update—not only about the work taking place on the property, but about where we believe this ministry is headed.

Faith Abides has always been about more than a piece of property or a building. Our desire is to create a place where people can encounter Jesus Christ, grow in the Word of God, worship and pray together, be equipped for ministry, and then take the Gospel to others.

The vision is beginning to move forward.

Preparing a Place for Prayer and Worship

One of our biggest steps has been clearing a room in the center barn that will become our first small chapel and prayer room.

There is still work to do, but most of the room has now been cleared. Rather than waiting until the entire property is renovated or until we have a large sanctuary, our plan is to begin simply.

Prayer. Worship. The Word. Fellowship.

From there, we can grow.

A Lot of Work Has Already Been Done

Over the past several years, a tremendous amount of work has gone into preserving and restoring the Faith Abides property.

Among the projects completed or substantially completed are repairs to electrical systems, septic and plumbing systems, roofs, structural walls, flooring, windows, fencing, HVAC equipment, the well and pump electrical system, and extensive remodeling of the houses and rental areas.

The rear pole barn suffered major damage in the past, including the collapse of an entire side. Its roof structure has now been rebuilt, and work is currently underway installing the metal roofing.

We have also cleaned and maintained large areas of the property, removed many loads of debris, repaired damaged structures, and continued the ordinary work required to care for nearly ten acres.

There is still plenty to do—but when we look back, we can also see how far the property has already come.

Building the Foundation Before the Building

Our immediate goal is not to create an elaborate church facility.

Our goal is to establish the ministry.

We are working toward having a usable chapel, dependable restroom facilities, electrical service, water, and the basic infrastructure needed to begin gathering together. Larger improvements to the barn can come as God provides the people and resources.

At the same time, Faith Abides is developing ministry beyond the physical property.

We are building Bible and ministry classes through the Faith Abides School of Ministry, with a long-term vision of training disciples, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, worship leaders, teachers, and other ministers of the Gospel.

Our desire is not simply to gather people into one church.

We want to pray, win people to Christ, disciple them, train them, send them, and multiply.

The Vision Ahead

The vision for Faith Abides includes:

Prayer and worship.

The preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Bible study and discipleship.

Training and equipping ministers.

A School of Ministry and Bible college.

Evangelism and missions.

Worship and media ministry.

Humanitarian ministry to people in need.

Licensing and ordaining qualified ministers.

Planting and strengthening churches locally, nationally, and internationally.

We believe the property God has placed in our care can become a place where people are restored, equipped, and sent out to serve Christ.

But a church is not built out of lumber, metal roofing, electrical panels, or ten acres of land.

A church is built with people.

We Are Looking for People Who Share the Vision

As we prepare to begin gathering, we are praying especially for a few individuals and families who will catch the vision and help build Faith Abides from the beginning.

Not simply people looking for another Sunday service, but people who want to pray, worship, serve, invite others, disciple people, and help establish something that can eventually reach far beyond this property.

Maybe you have been looking for a place where you can serve.

Maybe God has placed ministry in your heart and you need somewhere to grow.

Maybe you simply want to pray with us and see what happens.

We would love to hear from you.

This is still the beginning.

There are buildings to repair, rooms to clean, ministries to develop, people to reach, leaders to train, and churches yet to be planted.

But after years of preparation, Faith Abides is moving forward.

Please keep us in prayer as we continue preparing the chapel and take the next steps toward our first prayer gatherings, Bible studies, worship services, and ministry training.
